Donavan Thomas - Lead Budget Officer & Bookkeeper

I have over 15 years of experience in budgeting, including grant financial management. I started my career at the New York State Assembly, Ways and Means Committee in the Tax Division. Upon relocating to Washington DC, I gained valuable experience working in local government, higher education, and the research sector. I have reviewed and managed budgets ranging from $500,000 to over $5 million, collaborating effectively with Budget Directors, Program Directors, and staff to manage and report on financial activities, ensuring funding integrity.  Adding bookkeeping to my skillset enables me to expand my oversight duties and enhance my ability to manage financial operations efficiently, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to strategic decision-making. I am a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers. 


I firmly believe in the power of positive thinking and proactive action to achieve success. My objective is to utilize my experience in budgeting combined with my bookkeeping skills to achieve operational efficiencies for any company/organization I work with.
